sometimes
you don't have to wait
for the sky to fall on your head
for the dust to be cleaned out
for the chores to be complete
no epiphany
no haze either
it's simple enough
because it can't wait
what is done is done
even eked out
in the name of practicality
consideration
procrastination
for someone else's cause
rock hard
strewn by the wayside
as regular as a life
could be
tomorrow today yesterday
still creeping
whispering
"what about them"
and this
and that
and all the
baggage???
I have all of me that I need
right now
right here
no clock
no rainbow
no messing around
the desert is beautiful
the sand unmarked
the heat unbearable
and the distance
unfathomable
as of now
I cannot speak
or hear
but I can see
high resolution
anti aliased
untenable?
I will not move
But I will not
turn back
they say
when it's time
you will know
They were right.

They weren't right. You were, are. You paint your life without too much glamour (no rainbows, etc.), but the simple words:
'I will not move
But I will not
turn back'
are among the most honest ones I have heard in a LONG time. No frills, no dreaming, just being in what is.
hmmmm ...
Inkblot:
Happiness is a warm gun... remember?
i've turned too much in my life...i've turned and lost and ignored all the signs...i wish i could walk as firmly as you do
"no clock
no rainbow
no messing around"
sigh...hrmmm...i feel that way, most mornings: how reality and fantasy both seem the wrong option.
your writing is more bold and boiled-down than most blargs i've read. uberkudos to that. plus, the title turns me on.
one of your best writings....very simple and straight forward...As they are....
And more importantly,i like the tone...as they say, sometimes just not turning back is equal to moving ahead in life:)
Loved every bit of it...thanks a tonne...
Cheers:)
yes! no turning back, going all the way when it's time.
the desert is beautiful like a hard-boiled egg, or maybe hard-boiled wonderland and the end of the world.
no nonsense. bone hard honest.
(still love you)
;)
