Untrue

I'll sit on this tall green hill
and wait for you
I'll stare into the sun
and you'll have no clue

I'll sit on this big brown rock
and look for you
and let the ice and sleet
freeze me blue

I'll stand on the purple water's edge
and search for you
and the ducks will laugh
as they always do

I'll lie on a dusky desert dune
and wish for you
and the sands will swell
and bury us two.

I'D LIKE TO BE UNDER THE SEA,
IN AN OCTOPUS'S GARDEN IN THE SHADE.

WE WOULD BE WARM,
BELOW THE STORM,
IN OUR LITTLE HIDEAWAY BENEATH THE WAVES.
RESTING OUR HEAD ON THE SEA BED,
IN AN OCTOPUS'S GARDEN NEAR A CAVE.

WE WOULD SING AND DANCE AROUND
BECAUSE WE KNOW WE CAN'T BE FOUND.

WE WOULD SHOUT AND SWIM ABOUT
THE CORAL THAT LIES BENEATH THE WAVES.
(Lies beneath the ocean waves)
OH, WHAT JOY (ah) FOR EV'RY GIRL AND BOY
KNOWING WE'RE HAPPY AND THEY'RE SAFE.
(Happy and they're safe)

WE WOULD BE SO HAPPY YOU AND ME;
NO ONE THERE TO TELL US WHAT TO DO.

I'D LIKE TO BE UNDER THE SEA,
IN AN OCTOPUS'S GARDEN WITH YOU

it was september.
1969 to be precise.
i was 15 and i had just saved up all my hard earned cash (paper round)to go out and buy Abbey Road).
it was the 4th album of their's that i had and i thought it was by far the best.
it wasn't.
but there are still some good moments on it. even Ringo's daft bit of nonsense.

another fine bit of poetry from our favourite Rorschach person!

and..
i'll just read your write
and be washed away by it
with little droplets
of delicate words knit.

Or something to that effect! Very nicely done!

Great .. :)

For the previous post, I said "different" coz I thought it was more direct than your other poems which are mostly in methaphors. Btw I love both kinda poetry!

Yes, symmetry between you and Ringo. Who's the weatherproof chick acting as the fulcrum?

You're making Ringo look childish! ;-)

Ringo was, and still is, childish. I had forgotten that he wrote this ditty. And Yellow Submarine as well.
Peace
