Nobody asked where she was going
Nobody asked her to stay
Nobody carried her suitcase
Nobody showed her the way.
She looked back just one time
She knew no one was there
She looked on straight ahead
She didn't need them to care.
-----
" Something inside of me
Has opened up its eyes
Why did you put it there?
Did you not realize
Something inside of me
It screams the loudest sound
Sometimes I think I could
I'm gonna burn this whole world down.."
Burn (from the soundtrack of Natural Born Killers)
-----
Loaded cylinders
Fragmentation jacket
Acetone peroxide
Red trigger in pocket.
A belt too heavy
For her fragile frame
Mind working calmly
On this deadly game.
She'd practised the part
With passionate joy
She was programmed to win
For a cause, not a ploy.
It mattered not who
Was going to die
Kids, friends ,neighbours
It only mattered why.
She brushed her long hair
For the very last time
She smelt the bacon
And the basil and thyme.
She touched the new leaves
She was walking on air
Triumph in her heart
Truth or dare?
It was time now though
The mission had begun
Her fingers hit base
The world slowly spun
Brighter than the sun
Louder than a gun
The deed was done.
Yes, her race was run...
and no one would know
how
for a second
just one second
She'd wished she was home.

This must be Black Thursday. The angst and foreboding was almost tangible.
bleak and foreboding as a grim nightmare.
Wonderful!
(And you like NIN too??)
I sense a great ache in her to be known, not just the need to be physically or emotionally loved. This is so volatile; she is so volatile.
What would happen if I pulled the pin? Would the grenade explode into frustration, or into her own beauty?
doc: no one could touch it.
cj:the nightmare's multiplying.
aradhita: nine inch nails or anais in henry and june? and thanks.
mermaid: you may be right, or you may be wrong.
nothing beautiful about suicide bombers-once they go through with it.
Beautiful...!
Makes me wonder...
I meant Nine inch Nail..but I have a feeling u like Anais Nin as well :)
I read your words and am first struck by the power of them, the imagery that is conjured four lines at a time.

Beautiful.. the mood as ever was .. entrancing ..
misty: I don't really, but thanks. :)
sal: and what does it make you wonder...?
aradhita: write to me if you have time. we can doscuss 'em!
UFNUB: thanks again
pb: thank you. its not the best feeling introspecting on suicide bombing though! perhaps you coud write about crime in mumbai sometime? would like to read.
aria: thank you. it was a strange mood putting oneself in the shoes of another.
Very well written. Loved reading it.
I want to know more.
mermaid has left a new comment on your post "Anywhere but home":
I would suggest someone take you away, but then we coudn't call you desert queen anymore.
Just imagine the oncoming rain...
(posting this indirectly due to technical errors)
